Wedding weekend at a romantic castle in France

Dream Wedding in France: There is no other way to describe M & J's wedding weekend in Champagne. For three days, the celebrations took place under perfect weather with lots of laughter, dancing, eating, and drinking. M&J entrusted me not only with the coordination of their weekend but also with the majority of the planning. Hosting a wedding in Champagne had always been on my bucket list, and I am delighted that we were able to put together such a beautiful event!

The region is one of the country's most popular for a reason: after all, this is where the famous champagne comes from. Did you know that any sparkling wine, even if it has the same quality as champagne, can only be called champagne if it comes from Champagne? That’s why we made sure that the wedding weekend fit the region perfectly and that the element of "champagne" appeared repeatedly (not just in the glasses 😋).

The wedding guests trickled into the wine region throughout Friday. As a welcome gift and to set the mood for the weekend, there was a small bottle of champagne with a welcome card from the bride and groom.

To ensure that all guests could fully enjoy the evening without having to worry about anything, they were picked up from the hotel by shuttle bus and taken to the Get Together. With three different hotels and many program points, planning the shuttles was no easy task! The exact departure times were listed on the guests' welcome cards.

We planned the Get Together so that the guests could get to know Champagne and the namesake drink in a relaxed atmosphere. At the Joseph Perrier winery, several champagne tastings were held before dinner. Even though most guests would have liked to celebrate late into the night, the big celebration was yet to come on Saturday.

Saturday started early for the bride and bridesmaids – hello hair and makeup – but the other guests could sleep in until they gathered at the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-l'Épine at noon. M. wore a stunning dress, in which she seemed to float down the aisle of the church. After a short mass filled with laughter and live music, the couple was taken to the venue in a vintage car, while the guests followed in the shuttle bus. This way, the couple could celebrate their new marriage in peace without immediately having all the guests around them. They also used the journey to the venue to take undisturbed wedding photos in the beautiful landscape.

Arrival at Château de Mairy in France

Did I create this sketch for the château for their invite? Well yes, yes I did.

The reception took place at the romantic Domaine du Château de Mairy, which takes your breath away as soon as you enter the castle grounds. The château was built in the 17th century and is surrounded by 10 hectares of greenery, making it perfect for any type of celebration. My highlight: the bride and groom, along with their closest family and friends, can even stay overnight at this unique location. Behind the château, there is a tent where the dinner and party took place.

The tent is wquipped with fairy lights and enough space for 80 guests - everything you need for a fantastic, exclusive party.

Wedding in France: Not without Petit Déjeuner

After a lively celebration, all the guests gathered again at the château the next morning to enjoy a sunny brunch against the backdrop of the castle. It was time to reflect on the evening and the weekend, and to recharge before heading back home.

I love scrolling through the photos and videos and reminiscing about this wonderful event!
